Boeing has received a $5.2 million contract modification from the USAF Life Cycle Management Command for the F-15C’s Raytheon APG-63(V)3 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar Improvement Program. The modest contract modification green lights the installation of kits into 46 aircraft that will be completed by June 2021.

The first F-15C Eagles upgraded with the APG-63(V)3 entered flight-test at Nellis in October 2010 and the 18th Wing at Kadena AB, Japan,  took delivery of its first four AESA jets on October 21, 2010.

Boeing was awarded a contract in 2015 for integration of 17 AN/APG-63(v)3 radars worth $281.7 million. A further $558.46 million contract modification came in November 2016 for 42 F-15Cs and in March 2017 tan additional 18 jets were added. The latest deal brings total F-15C upgrades to 123 on contract from an expected total of 179 aircraft.
